MACHIAS WILD BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL

A seriously FUN festival!

August 14, 15 & 16, 2009

Blueberry Musical: Tickets should be purchased in advance. Locally written, directed and performed.

Dress rehearsal, no band Tuesday, August 11 -. 6:30 pm. All tickets $5.00.

Wednesday-Saturday, August 12-15, 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Children $5.00, Adults $12.00.

Blueberry Run: One Mile Walk and Five Mile Run. Registration at Hemingway Annex on Court Street Saturday 6:00 am. Races begin 8:00 am. Sponsored by The Next Step: Domestic Violence Project, 1-888-604-8692. $

Blueberry Pie Eating Contest: Takes place on the steps of Centre Street Church, Saturday at 11:00 am. Contest Lottery Sign-up 8 - 10 am. Names drawn shortly after 10 am. Classes: years 7-10, 11-14, 15-18, adult.

Blueberry Farm Tour: A guided tour of the Welch Farm, Roque Bluffs, ME. Maps available at the Information Booth, Centre Street Church. Friday, August 14 - 11:00 am. Saturday, August 15 - 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Sunday, August 16 - 11:00. (Shuttle service - SATURDAY ONLY -1/2 hour before tour.)

Blueberry Museum: Information and exhibits about the blueberry industry in Downeast Maine. Friday evening open house 5:00 - 7:00 pm; Saturday hours 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Whole Foods Market.

Blueberry Quilt Raffle: Hand-quilted. On display at Centre Street Church. Raffle ticket $1.00.

Drawing on Sunday, 1:00 pm, at the beginning of the afternoon concert, Centre Street Church

Blueberry Cooking Contest: Entries must be “made from scratch using Maine blueberries.” Classes: Children, adult. Entries accepted Saturday, 9:00-11:00 am, Machias Savings Bank Community Room. Winners announced 3:00 pm

Blueberry Festival T-shirts, cook book, etc: T-shirts with Festival logo, 2009 winning design, hats, aprons, 'onesies', tote bags, Blueberry Cook Books on sale at Centre Street Church May-August.

Blueberry Festival Community Worship Service: Informal worship, singing, greeting our neighbors, offering prayers of peace. Chancel Choir, Bells, Special Music. Sunday, 9:25 - Call to Worship - ringing the Paul Revere Bell. Worship at 9:30 am Centre Street Church
