Blueberry Festival Musical

Blueberry Musical

"Randy of Blueberry"

This year our musical is "Randy of Blueberry"...think Andy of Mayberry. Randall (Randy) O'Brien (descendant of Machias's first naval battle of the Revolution hero Jeremiah O'Brien) and his son Osbourne (Obbie) try to rescue the Town of Blueberry's largest employer (the blueberry factory) from being seized by the Tax Collector.  Blueberry fairies observe and lead Randy to a solution while Obbie and his friends try to figure out how to make life in bucolic Blueberry bareable.  Propelled by the propensity of the Town's characters to launch into song at a moment's notice, this year's Blueberry Festival Musical offers all that could be wanted in family entertainment.  If you get there too late to buy a ticket and get a seat, that is not our fault.

The Blueberry Musical Comedy is a highlight of the Festival. Locally written, performed, and directed, this musical changes each year. Lots of singing and music and laughter!  The Machias Community Band plays a lively concert to start the show. Last year the 2008 Musical was called "The Berry and I, or Bluefinger."
