    Dear Vendors,

    Wow, it’s 2017 already, and time to start thinking about the Machias Wild Blueberry Festival! We have been doing a lot of thinking and planning in an effort to make this year’s festival even better for our vendors, as well as our festival attendees. We are actually making some pretty major changes, but we think you will agree that these are positive changes.

    First, our three lots will be divided by the number of days you want to be at the festival. We will have a one-day lot, a two-day lot, and best of all, a three-day lot. This change has come about because we recognize that it is sometimes difficult for vendors to stay for two full days, while others would love to stay longer. We think the idea of extending the festival by adding Friday will make many of our festival goers very happy. We have often had disgruntled attendees who are disappointed that they have to wait until Saturday to shop! We are pleased that only we, at Centre Street Congregational Church, can offer this flexibility to our vendors. We also plan to have one point person assigned to each lot for the duration of the festival to answer questions and troubleshoot as needed.

    The Church Commons (or Green Space) will be the three-day lot for vendors who wish to participate on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. However, this lot will also accommodate vendors who want to be in this space, but only for two days on Saturday and Sunday.

    The Bangor Savings Bank lot will be designated as a two-day lot, for use on Saturday and Sunday.  The County lot will be the one-day lot, for Saturday only. There will be no vendors in the County lot on Sunday.

    Booth spaces will be assigned by the end of April, (on a first-come, first-serve basis) and we will make every effort to accommodate your space request. When possible, we will try to place three day vendors together. When we receive your application and payment, you will be assigned a space.

    Pricing for a 10×10 space is as follows:
    Three Days- $200.00        Two Days- $125.00        One Day- $75.00

    For non-profits or Washington County residents:
    Three Days- $125.00        Two Days- $75.00        One Day- $50.00

    We will charge an additional $25.00 (total) to the above fees for corner lots. This is a reduction from last year’s prices!

    The other change is that all of our vendors will receive a decal to display on your booth that identifies you as a “certified vendor” of Centre Street Congregational Church, the sponsor of the festival. We have noted that as the festival has grown, many people not officially associated with the Festival, set up booths all over Machias. Because we don’t know who they are or what they are selling, we cannot vouch for the quality of what they have to offer. This has been very confusing for Festival-goers, who think that these sellers are officially part of the Festival and that, we, as the Church, are responsible for their products and selling practices. By providing the “certified vendor” decal for everyone in our three lots, shoppers will be assured that we support and stand behind our Machias Wild Blueberry Festival Vendors.

    We will still provide the vendor shuttle service, and daytime and overnight parking will be at Machias Memorial High School. The dedicated shuttle service will run on Saturday and Sunday. If you opt for the three-day lot, Court Street and Centre Street will be open on Friday, so the shuttle service will not be needed on this day.  You will receive a “vendor tag” to place in your car during the festival. Parking will not be allowed on Court Street or Centre Street on Saturday and Sunday NOR will it be allowed at any time on any part of the Church Commons/Green Space, including overnight.

    We expect vendors to stay for the entire day or days for which they have registered. Vendor hours will be 9-5 on Friday and Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday.  Out of courtesy to our festival guests, vendors who choose to leave before the end of these assigned hours on the day or days for which they are registered, may not be invited back another year.

    We will welcome you with coffee and blueberry muffins as you set up on Saturday morning, and someone will be available to answer your questions and help you with any issues that may arise throughout the festival.
