Blueberry Farm Tours

Have you ever wondered how to rake blueberries
or what a mechanical harvester was, and how it works?
Here’s your chance to find out!!

Come tour Welch Farm – a working blueberry farm in Roque Bluffs.

Tour dates and times:

Friday, August 17         11:00 am
Saturday, August 18     10:00 am and 1:00 pm
Sunday, August 19      10:00 am

Take a free tour of a local blueberry farm and learn what it takes to bring those luscious little blues from the fields to your pancakes.

Wild blueberries grow and are harvested differently from cultivated, "high-bush" blueberries. You'll see what we mean when we talk about "raking' blueberries.

Friday:

There is no shuttle bus for Friday.  The first tour is Friday at 11 a.m. Pick up a map at the information booth near the church, and drive out.  The farm is about 10-15 minutes from Machias. There will be signs when you get close to the farm

Saturday:

Saturday Shuttle  service to the farm leaves from the Hannaford Shuttle stop on 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Sunday:

Sunday Shuttle service to the farm departs from Whole Life Market (on High Street in town) at 9:30 am.  Please note:  Children must be at least 5 years old to ride the bus.

Personal vehicle parking space is available at the farm.
