Beehive Design Collective 7th Annual Blackfly Ball
A dress-up dance party for all on Saturday, August 18, 2012
The Beehive Design Collective invites folks from near and far to join us in celebrating the 7th Annual Blackfly Ball, a dress-up dance party for all! Come join us on Saturday, August 18, and twirl the night away under the enchanting spell of soothing brass, wacky ukuleles, and rollicking marching bands. It'll be a night to remember, full of magical torch-lit booty-shakin' by raging waterfalls!
Held every year during the Machias Wild Blueberry Festival, the Blackfly Ball has become a much-anticipated event for both Downeast Maine and folks throughout the Northeast. The Ball is an annual celebration of the reopening of the Machias Valley Grange Hall in 2005 and a testimony to the 100+ years that the building has served as a community center to the people of Washington County. The event itself embodies the history of the building, as it brings together people from all walks of life -- young and old, farmers and city folk -- in a place where we find our common ground through community and celebration.
So grab your dancin' shoes and your favorite costume and mosey on down!
For more information (and to get your own copy of this year’s poster!), please contact the Bees at 255-6737 or check out www.beehivecollective.org.
This event is free and open to the public, but please, no drugs or alcohol.
WHEN: August 18; music starts at 6 p.m.
