Blueberry Festival Baking Contest

The cooking
contest is a fun part of the Blueberry Festival tradition. People
of all ages enter their favorite blueberry creations. Although it
is called a "baking contest", there are categories for: Appetizers,
Breads, Rolls & Muffins, Coffee Cakes, Dessert Cakes, Cookies,
Bars & Squares, Doughnuts, Desserts & Puddings, Jams &
Jellies, Pancakes & Waffles, one crust pie, two crust pies,
Salads, Punch & Wines, Relishes, Entrees and Sugar
Free.
Entries must be "made from scratch." Cooks include
the recipes with their entries, but do not have their names
visible. The cooking contest entries will be brought to the Blueberry Museum (The Community Room at MSB) between 9:00 and 11:00 on Saturday, with
judging from 11:30 - 2:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 3:00 p.m.
The Wild
Blueberry Commission of Maine will award prizes for the best
overall entry, and for the best 2 crust pie. The
pie winner will also be invited to participate in the pie contest
at the Blue Hill Fair. Two Children's awards will include prizes for the best entries by a boy and a girl. The prizes this year are: Overall winner $100.00 in Chamber Bucks. Best 2 crust pie $100.00 in Chamber Bucks and the 2 children winners will each receive $50.00 in Chamber Bucks.
